The Green Transit Fleet: |
|

Biodiesel Vehicles
Biodiesel has 75% lower emissions over-all than gasoline, and is carbon-neutral. Carbon-neutral means that the carbon dioxide it gives off is balanced by the carbon taken up by the plants which made the vegetable oil. Blue Ridge Biofuels, our supplier, makes biodiesel using waste grease from restaurants.
Using biodiesel supports our local economy, and decreases our reliance on heavily subsidized, imported fossil fuel. You can help save the air by choosing Green Transit, Ltd.

|

Natural Gas Vehicles
New Federal Tax incentives improve Natural Gas vehicles economic edge and will be part of the Green Transit fleet. With a new station near McCormick field and supported by the City of Asheville this fuel will run the proposed 12 passenger vans. A new company, Transeco Energy, will be opening new natural gas stations in the Asheville area in 2007.

Electric Vehicles
There is a new line of electric vehicles coming soon with new battery technology and solar collector roofs. Green Transit, Ltd. is planning to use these vehicles as part of your fleet -- electric vehicles will help improve the air quality.
