These gift certificates, which are transferable, will enable Green Transit, Ltd. to achieve its initial financial goals and provide a much needed service to Asheville area residents.

When you share a ride with two or three other passengers, not only is there a reduction in the fare paid, you also triple or quadruple your fuel efficiency! Plus, you will meet other forward-thinking, environmentally conscious folks -- get to know them in the cozy atmosphere of a shared ride.

How to Use the Service

Contact us at least 48 hours before you wish to ride. Subscribers pay an annual fee. You’ll be billed monthly for service by email. Already a subscriber? Complete our Ride Request Form.

What Does it Cost to Ride?

The cost for each ride is determined by the dispatcher and confirmed by the rider. Your cost depends on the distance traveled, the number of passengers, and the type of vehicle used. Usually it’s less than half the cost of a taxicab ride for the same distance. Check the Fares and Rates page for more information.
